Ringworm Fungus

Ringworm - Infection
Ringworm (Tinea Corporis) is a fungus that grows on the surface of your skin. It is related to athlete’s foot and jock itch. Ringworm occurs most often in children. Micatin® is approved for use on children 2 years of age and older.
Symptoms of Ringworm
Ringworm symptoms can include:
- Itchy, raised, scaly rings on the trunk or face
- Red, tan, or brown skin rash
- A circular inflamed area around the edge with healthy skin in the middle
- A round, flat patch of itchy skin
Treatment of Ringworm
Follow these steps to treat ringworm infections:
- Wash and dry the affected area.
- Apply a thin layer of Micatin® antifungal cream to the affected area twice a day (morning and night) for at least four weeks or as directed by a doctor.
- Extend the application about an inch beyond the visible edge to ensure the best treatment.
- If you don't see an improvement after four weeks, see your doctor.
Jock Itch Fungus

Jock Itch Fungus - Fungal Infection
Jock Itch (Tinea Cruris) is a fungus that grows on the skin of your groin area, inner thighs, and buttocks. It is related to Ringworm and Athlete's Foot.
Symptoms of Jock Itch
Jock itch symptoms can include:
- Burning, itching, and pain on groin area, inner thighs, buttocks
- Red, tan, or brown skin rash
- Flaking, peeling, and cracking skin
Treatment of Jock Itch Fungus
Follow these steps to treat jock itch infections:
- If you have athlete’s foot , treat at the same time as you treat jock itch
- Wash and dry the affected area
- Apply a thin layer of Micatin® antifungal cream to the affected area twice a day (morning and night) or as directed by a doctor
- Continue treatment for at least two weeks even if the infection appears to have cleared up sooner
- If you don't see an improvement after four weeks, see your doctor
Athlete’s Foot Fungus
Micatin® For Athlete’s Foot

Micatin® soothes the itching, and alleviates the burning discomfort of athlete’s foot fungus – while it kills the fungal infection that causes athlete’s foot.
Athlete’s Foot - Fungal Infection
Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis) is a fungus that grows in the warm, moist areas between the toes and spreads to the soles, arches, or toenails if left untreated. It is related to Ringworm and Jock Itch.
Symptoms of Athlete’s Foot
Athlete’s foot symptoms can include:
- Itching, stinging, burning between toes and on soles of feet
- Red, tan, or brown skin rash
- A white, wet surface
- Itchy, painful blisters
- Cracking and peeling skin
- Dry skin on sides and soles of feet
Complications from Athlete’s Foot
Athlete’s foot can lead to secondary infections:
- Tissue breakdown
- Soggy skin
- Painful eroded areas between the toes
- Eruption of blisters on your fingers, toes, and hands
Treatment of Athlete’s Foot
Follow these steps to treat athlete’s foot infections:
- Wash and dry the affected area
- Apply a thin layer of Micatin® antifungal cream to the affected area twice a day (morning and night) for at least four weeks or as directed by a doctor. Pay special attention to the spaces between the toes
- Wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes, and change shoes and socks at least once daily
- If you don't see an improvement after four weeks, see your doctor
- If your athlete's foot recurs frequently, your doctor may recommend that you use Micatin® continuously
